Responsible Sourcing

Who and where we choose to source raw materials from largely shapes the future of Australia’s native botanicals industry. This is why we are committed to partnering with and sourcing from Indigenous growers who implement sustainable, regenerative and eco-conscious agricultural practices.

Each one of our products is a pathway for our customers, suppliers and growers to “connect with country.” Thus, wherever possible, we make a concerted effort to work directly with Indigenous communities who wild harvest or grow our raw materials. In this way, by supporting Diramu, you're helping build local economies & self-determination for Indigenous communities and independent growers of native plants in rural Australia.

Our rivermint comes from Dominic Smith’s Pundi Produce farm, where he uses aquaponics, which is less taxing on the environment, using less water, land and labour than traditional agriculture…blending tradition of native botanicals with modern technology for the best result. Dominic also uses his farm as a learning ground, where participants can acquire farm skills and one day, be able to apply them to their own properties.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF COUNTRY

We pay our deepest respect to the Traditional Custodians of Country across Australia, to the Elders, past present and emerging; the generations of First Nation people and honour our relationships with all our growers and harvesters, for their knowledge and wisdom, connection to country and their stewardship of the natural world for over 60,000 years.
